Hosen-in temple (宝泉院)

Hosen-in is a kind of hidden place in northern Kyoto. It's located behind Sanzen-in temple in Ohara.

In the early autumn, I enjoyed matcha in a calm place.

After getting off a bus.(Sorry but the man in the pic is just a stranger)

This is a street to get to Sanzen-in Temple.

Once a year in Jizo-Bon time, 23rd and 24th Aug, this Sentou-kuyou candle ceremony is hold at Adashino nenbutsuji. This temple has a lot of no relative or nameless deceased , so that visitors can pray for them.
The atmosphere is different from other temples.

Atago kaidou is a street name, it's near to adashino nenbutsuji. This street holds lanthern festival at the same time.

Mimurotoji(三室戸寺)

During rainy season in Japan, from Mid June till Early July, you can see many hydrangeas. One of the popular temple, Mimurotoji holds lighting up event.

Mimurotoji is a little far from center of Kyoto, so that mainly local people visit. However,  if you have a chance, this good atmosphere can be recommended.

Toji (東寺)

Toji is the Head temple for shingon shu, founded in A.D.796, one of the world heritage.
It has the five stories pagoda, which is the tallest wooden tower in Japan.

They hold lighting up event, during spring and autumn season.  It was first time for me though, I really like this place with cherry blossoms.
